Switching guides
How to switch property management software
What to export from your current system, how to time the switch around your contract, and how to move without losing history.
How to switch from AppFolio: what to export and how to move
To switch from AppFolio, close your final month, then export the rent roll, tenant ledgers, owner balances, security deposits, vendor list, trial balance, general ledger detail, and open work orders, plus every lease PDF. AppFolio does not publish a bulk export process, so ask your account team in writing what a full export includes. As of October 2026, AppFolio lists a read-only API on Plus and a read/write API on Max, and none on Core. Darcy imports AppFolio exports and reconciles each batch to your files' totals before anything is imported.
How to switch from Buildium: what to export and how to move
To switch from Buildium, run the rent roll, tenant ledgers, owner statements, security deposit, vendor, trial balance, general ledger, and work order reports as of one month-end date, and download every signed lease. Buildium does not publish a whole-account export, and its Open API is listed on the Premium plan only, as of October 2026. If you switch mid-year, also export year-to-date vendor payments for 1099s. Darcy imports Buildium exports and reconciles each batch to your files' totals before anything is imported.
How to switch from Rent Manager: what to export and how to move
To switch from Rent Manager, run a Report Batch with the Summary Rent Roll, tenant ledgers, owner statements, Balance Sheet, General Ledger, vendor list, and open work orders as of one month-end date. Use Report Writer to capture custom fields that standard reports leave out. For a full structured copy, Rent Manager offers a read/write API and read-only Open Access views of your Rent Manager Online database. Darcy imports the Rent Manager rent roll, residents, and units reports and reconciles each batch to your files' totals before anything is imported. It does not import general ledger history.
How to switch from Yardi Breeze: what to export and how to move
To switch from Yardi Breeze, run your financial statements with transaction-level detail, a final report packet for each owner, the rent roll, resident ledgers, deposits, vendors, and open work orders as of one month-end date. Breeze does not publish an export guide, so ask support for report names, formats, and bulk file downloads. Breeze runs on an annual agreement, with a cancel option only in the first 30 days, so plan around your renewal date. Darcy imports Yardi exports and reconciles each batch to your files' totals before anything is imported.
How to switch from Yardi Voyager: what to export and how to move
To switch from Yardi Voyager, first export your entity structure and chart of accounts. Then run the rent roll, ledgers, owner balances, deposits, vendors, work orders, trial balance, and custom reports for each entity as of one month-end date. Yardi does not publish a public export guide for Voyager, so ask your account manager in writing for a full database extract and a bulk document export. Voyager contract terms are not published, so read your agreement for renewal and notice dates. Darcy imports Yardi exports and reconciles each batch to your files' totals before anything is imported.
